The trenchers are coming Breim in July 2026, and it will be an evening that will go down in village history. When this group enters the stage, they do not come as an ordinary band, but as a powerhouse of energy, rawness and humor that hits the audience like a mountain wind at full gallop. They do not play country – they grab it, shake it, throw it in the air and welcome it back with a grin, a fiddle roar and a guitar that glows.

Their soundscape smells of diesel, freshly cut grass, dusty party venues and stories from evenings that went better than planned, but worse than reason would have suggested. The lyrics are about life as it is lived in the countryside: love that comes roaring in like a pickup truck at high speed, parties that start innocently and end on the edge of a ditch, and friendships that are so strong that they can withstand engine failure, two-hour fiddle solos and a solid day the next.

On stage, Grøftekarane play as if they have a V8 engine hidden under the floor and a direct line to something higher that beats in time with the drums. The audience is sucked into a universe where anything can happen – and usually does. A concert with Grøftekarane is a mix of dancing that you don't really know how to do, but still try! With all-singing that gets both Breim and neighboring villages to rock, and an infectious joy that lifts everyone who stands in front of the stage.

Breim will notice it when Grøftekarane plays. It will be the kind of moment that people will talk about for many years: "Were you there when Grøftekarane came to Breim ?” For those who are at the front, the answer is simple – they will feel it in their smile, their voice and their dancing shoes the next day.
