Norwegian country music
Norsk Countrytreff is a private foundation based in Gloppen municipality. The foundation was established by Breimsbygda Idrettslag, Byrkjelo Ungdomslag, Breim Bygdeungdomslag, A/L Breimshallen, Breim Country Club, Stiftinga Norsk Fjordhestgard, Gloppen municipality and Sogn og Fjordane County Municipality.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL NORWEGIAN COUNTRYTREFF
In 2024, Norwegian Countrytreffen (NCT) will be held for the 28th time. During the second weekend in July, 28 artists and bands will take to the stage at several venues throughout the municipality. The main arena is located at Norsk Fjordhestgard in Breim in Gloppen municipality.
Since the first festival in 1995, Norsk Countrytreff has slowly but surely grown to become one of the largest cultural events in Western Norway, and the largest event in Western Norway within its genre. From 2000 visitors the first year, in 2023 there was a new attendance record - with over 21 300 people attending the events that take place throughout Gloppen.
NCT's goal is not to be the biggest festival, but to be the best. Quality at all levels is our hallmark. Every year we try to further develop the organization for the artists, the audience and not least for all the almost 800 officials who work these days. It has become a tradition for gloppers and other country music enthusiasts to set aside this weekend for volunteer work, socializing and cultural enrichment. It's a tradition we hope will continue for many years to come. And we believe this is possible through continuous development.
CONCERTS
On Wednesday evening it starts in the main arena for our early birds, to shorten the waiting time before it really breaks loose on Thursday. On Friday and Saturday, there are 13 hours of continuous live music on the festival grounds . First in the day in Kolbein's Saloon , and in the evening there will also be music from Hesjestauren .
The church concert in Breim Church has been called NCT's flagship event. In 2024, the concert is again scheduled for Saturday. It is a great pleasure for the artists to participate in this concert, which every year fills the church to the last pew.
The traditional and gradually very popular Bluegrass concert in Frislidlada at Nordfjord Folkemuseum is organized on Sunday at 19.00. There is a special atmosphere in the rustic surroundings of this old barn, and the bluegrass music fits in perfectly here.
In addition to this, there are concerts during the day on Saturday at Byrkjelo, Reed and Sandane city centre. This creates a country atmosphere in the entire municipality both for the residents and for visitors who are out shopping.
COUNTRY FOR EVERYONE
Children's Country meeting
In 2009, for the first time, a special event was arranged for the youngest children. The children's Countrytreffen puts the children in focus, and they get to experience music, dance and activities. In 2024 we will also offer a concert for the young cowboys. The event is free for everyone.
Offer for the elderly
It has been inadvisable for a number of older people to take part in the concerts at our various arenas. Therefore, in 2009 we took artists from the arena to the buffalo shelter in Hyen and Byrkjelo, as well as from the nursing home at Sandane. This was a very successful event, with good feedback. The event at the bufellesskap and nursing home has been a tradition ever since. With this offer, in addition to Barnas Countrytreff, we are a festival for all age groups.
