COUNTRY CULT

Sorrow, joy and a twinkle in the eye! With Country Cult you get the complete package, and with the critically acclaimed EP Hardships and Heartaches in their luggage, they have grown from a legendary live project to a full-fledged country band that is second to none. Cheeky licks from the telecaster, weeping steel guitar and lyrics that could just as well have been written 60 years ago, are some of the things that characterize Country Cult – where they balance on the thin line that is the traditional country genre – and always find their way back to balance after dabbling in both rock and bluegrass.

After the release of Hardships and Heartaches in May 2024, Country Cult received praise from reviewers for keeping the honky tonk sound alive, and it took only a month from its release before the album had been played on over 400 radio stations around the world, from the national channel in Norway to major radio stations in the United States, where the roots of Country Cult's sound are rooted.

“They ooze nostalgic honky tonk and preserve the legacy of George Jones and his peers in the best possible way. I hear traditional country, but also echoes of cosmic country à la The Byrds and The Flying Burrito Brothers. This gives hope to those of us who believe that the country music that was created 50–60 years ago is still alive and well,”

– Dagbladet reviewer Øyvind Rønning.

As a live band, Country Cult shines in full force. They deliver a show that will make you yearn, laugh and dance – and with some of Norway's leading country musicians, you are guaranteed to be thrilled.
