You have legends, and then you have LEGENDS.. Ray Benson is in the latter category, and with almost 54 years as the frontman of the legendary Asleep At The Wheel, he is a VERY upbeat 73-year-old who transports his long body across the Atlantic to perform at Norsk Countrytreff Saturday, July 13th.
From 2024, AATW will embark on a two-year tour, and as Ray himself says - the time you get to experience AATW during these two years is probably the last time you'll get to experience AATW right there. Join us and give Ray Benson and Asleep At The Wheel the respect they deserve after over 50 years in music!
Asleep At The Wheel saw the light of day in 1970, and has maintained its style and appearance, despite having changed the lineup regularly and slowly over these almost 54 years. But one man has stood firm - Ray Benson. A man who can look back on a career with Willie Nelson, with Johnny Cash, with Dale Watson, with Dolly Parton, with Van Morrison, Doug Sahm, the Dixie Chicks - 5 decades of music delivered with his heart on the outside of his shirt.
